Tuesday 23rd December
Arrive to a welcoming glass of mulled wine or tea and Grasmere Gingerbread then settle into your room and start relaxing ahead of your festive break. In the evening you will have the opportunity to meet your hosts and fellow guests before our celebrated “5 Course Tasting Dinner”, in our superb 2 AA Rosette Signature Restaurant accompanied by generous glasses of fine wines to compliment the food and put you in the Christmas spirit.
Wednesday 24th December
After breakfast you have the morning to spend as you please, perhaps having a swim, a beauty treatment in our spa (please book early) or buying some last minute gifts. Then you can join us on an optional guided walk enjoying hot mulled wine and treats en-route whilst taking in the breath taking views of Grasmere Lake.
The evening will begin with a Champagne Reception and Canapés before a candlelit dinner in the Signature Restaurant accompanied by our pianist with festive tunes. After dinner, sit by our log fire or relax in one of the comfortable lounges. You may wish to visit St Oswald’s Church for midnight mass with carols; warm mulled wine and mince pies will await your return.
Thursday 25th December
2014 Christmas Day – Merry Christmas!
We hope Santa has been good to you!
Start the day with a buffet style breakfast and have the morning to open your presents and prepare for a fabulous 6 course Christmas Gala Luncheon with all the traditional trimmings, seasonal touches and a glass of champagne.
After lunch enjoy our homemade Christmas cakes, our annual guess the weight of the Christmas Cake competition always proves popular especially for the winner, you may want to watch the Queen’s speech in one of our lounges. The evening can be spent relaxing with a tempting buffet and quietly relaxing with board games in the lounges.
Friday 26th December
Start the morning with a hearty Buck’s Fizz Brunch, ahead of our famous annual Charity Duck Race on the River Rothay, where there will be many prizes to be won as well as mulled wine and mince pies served for the riverbank supporters.
Return to the Hotel in time for tea; maybe relax with a swim or sauna. A superb 5 course Banquet Dinner will be served in the Coleridge Suite with a visit from The Lakeland Handbell ringers and our international DJ to dance the night away.
Saturday 27th December
It’s time for breakfast and farewells or you may wish to extend your stay with us.
