Award Winning Wedding Venue Lake District
The Wordsworth Hotel is an award winning wedding venue in the Lake District. The building was originally built around 1850 for the Earl of Cadogan as his private hunting lodge. It became a hotel in 1874 following the Victorian tourist boom which began after the completion of the North Western railway in 1847. Over the years ‘The Wordsworth’ as it became known some 35 years ago, has hosted European royalty, American presidents and numerous celebrities looking for the luxury of a true country house hotel with modern comforts and that special atmosphere and ambience that’s seldom found these days.
This exceptional wedding venue has received many awards including a TripAdvisor® Certificate of Excellence. Now in its sixth year, the achievement celebrates hospitality businesses that have earned great traveller reviews on TripAdvisor over the past year. Certificate of Excellence recipients include accommodations, eateries and attractions located all over the world that have continually delivered a quality customer experience.
The Certificate of Excellence accounts for the quality, quantity and recency of reviews submitted by travellers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period. To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.
The historic Wordsworth Hotel is the perfect setting for your wedding at any time of the year, be it the daffodils in the spring, the rhododendrons and blossom in the summer, the autumnal leaves or the snow-capped fells in the winter.
